FAQ

Who needs an Agile certification?

Certification is a qualification that expands one’s toolkit or understanding of a specific subject area. Therefore, Agile certification is recommended for everyone (both specialists and managers) who work in an agile environment or are involved in or planning an Agile transformation.

What certifications do you offer for Scrum Masters? How about Product Owners?

We offer certifications for both Agile Scrum Masters and Agile Scrum Foundation, as well as Product Owner training. Additionally, we provide training sessions where you can obtain the PO certification through a shortened program (meaning you attend a Scrum Master certification and then can take an additional day of training for the PO certification). Alternatively, we also offer role-specific training as SAFe® certifications: POPM, SSM, SASM.

How does the Agile training differ from other training providers?

Fundamentally, all our trainers are professionally qualified and have many years of practical experience. Therefore, the training experience for participants is usually quite different compared to what it may be with ‘pure trainers’ in some cases.

Customized Workshops: We create customized workshops that provide participants with a deeper, hands-on experience with the Agile concepts taught in our courses and also take into account the requirements in their own work environment.

When and where can I take the certification exam?

For role-specific certifications, there are two options: on-site immediately after the course as a paper-based exam or at home within 24 hours after the respective course.

For SAFe, you have 30 days to take the exam after completing the course. All SAFe® certification exams can be taken online, anytime, and from anywhere.

Is it really worthwhile to obtain an Agile certification?

The short answer is, it depends on your own situation and interest. If I work in an environment where Agile methods are not used or will never be used, another certification might potentially cover my requirements more effectively. If I work in an environment where some Agile practices are already being used or there are already some Agile teams, or if I work for a company that is either in the midst of an Agile transformation or about to embark on one, then an Agile certification is highly recommended. It provides the most essential and up-to-date information, allows me to expand my toolkit, and provides an opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants on the topic.

Do Agile certifications expire?

The validity period of the SAFe Agilist certification is twelve months, starting from the day of certification. However, the validity period can be extended at the end of each validation period by paying a fee or by updating to the current version with a brief online refresh on the Scaled Agile website.
