KANBAN, a Japanese term for board, card or receipt, was developed by Taiichi Ohno after the Second World War and introduced at Toyota as a method for just-in-time production. Since 2000, the KANBAN method has been used not only in production, but also in software, product and service development, IT operations, human resources, marketing, sales and other areas where process improvements are possible.

This training focuses on understanding the KANBAN principles and their practical application using the KANBAN tools.

Participants can take the exam for the KANBAN Foundation certification directly at the end of the second day of the course.

Module 2: Continuous improvement

• Introduction of Kaizen
• Visualization and improvement of processes
• Framework conditions for change

Module 3: Implementation of KANBAN

• Limitation of work in progress (WIP)
• Control of flow and rhythm
• Prioritization
• Reduction of variability

Module 4: Scaling KANBAN

• Application of KANBAN in distributed teams
• KANBAN in large projects

The 60-minute "KANBAN Foundation" exam can be taken at the end of the second day.
